Our Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education offers a unique experience in teaching and learning through coursework, field experiences and community engagement.

Majors

Elementary Education Certification Grades K-6 with ESOL and Reading Endorsements Major

Become the teacher who inspires curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning, making a lasting impact on young learners. This program prepares you to lead your own classroom, foster academic growth, and support students as they build strong foundational skills.

Career Development Major

In this program, you will learn how to support elementary students and their learning—both in schools and throughout the community. You’ll develop the skills to collaborate with educators, families, and community organizations to make a positive impact on children’s education. Note: This major does not lead to teacher certification.

Major Highlights

  • Gain knowledge and experiencs that could prepare you for careers outside the traditional classroom in education-related fields such as curriculum development, government agencies, policymaking, private schools, business partners, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Learn effective teaching strategies and best practices used in schools and other educational environments.
  • Build foundational knowledge and instructional skills in Reading, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, ESOL and other subjects relevant to the elementary academic setting.
