Our Honors Major provides outstanding students with the opportunity to do original research under a faculty sponsor. To graduate with honors, the student must carry out a research project, write up the project as an Honors Thesis and present the results of the research in a departmental seminar.
The thesis should be in the general format of a master's thesis, including a title page, signature page, abstract, text body, figures and references. The student will also have to give a public presentation of the thesis (about 30-45 min). This can probably be combined with the senior seminar paper and presentation, but will be a little longer than what students normally do for the senior seminar.
All requirements must be met by the time of certification for graduation, about one month before graduation.
