Early Childhood Education: Italian Perspective

This educational study abroad program is designed to introduce students to early childhood curriculum and instruction practices through the lenses of an Italian perspective based on three learning contexts: small groups contexts, group discussions and collective reasoning.

This six-week online course incorporates a two-week study abroad trip to Trento, Italy, where students will visit, experience, and observe Italian applications of the learning contexts in Nido centers and preschools. Once you've experienced "le scuole materne e nidi," you’ll find your teaching and professional perspective and attitude to be more international.

  • Location & Accommodations

The enchanting late-Medieval and Renaissance city of Trento located in the Adige River valley in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol in Italy will be the location of our program. Because of its northern location, Trento is a train ride away from Milan and Venice. In the 16th century, the city was the location of the Council of Trent. Trento was named the 2004 Alpine Town of the Year and is home to one of the most prestigious universities in Italy.

Students will be sharing hotel rooms (two students per room).
