Our work encompasses a broad range of topics and methods of inquiry: Socratic questioning of the nature of human knowledge; probing the rational basis of moral and political thought; confronting fundamental questions of value and meaning; and exploring the structure of reasoning itself. We study the great philosophers for historical understanding as well as contemporary significance.
We are an integral component in strengthening, promoting and contributing to innovative research and teaching. Our students participate in critical reading and interpretation of scholarly texts, as well as in the construction and appraisal of arguments.
