Field Experiences

Below are the requirements and procedures for securing and completing field placements in Miami-Dade and Broward County Schools.

Field Placement Policies
All students must:
- Obtain fingerprinting and security clearance through the appropriate school district before beginning field experience hours.
- Contact the school administrator at your assigned field school to coordinate your start date.
- Participate in all school visits as arranged with your Master Teacher.
- Maintain professional behavior and dress appropriately at all field sites.
- Keep a record of your school visits using the FIU Field Experience Attendance Log
How to Obtain a School Placement
To secure a placement, visit the Office of Clinical Experiences (ZEB 130) with the following:
- Your valid security clearance card (Miami-Dade County) or badge (Broward County).
- A printed copy of your current FIU class schedule.

Important Note:

All placements must be coordinated through the Office of Clinical Experiences. Students may not arrange placements independently.
