The department of Mathematics and Statistics is excited to offer to students the ability to apply to our S-STEM Site. The Joint Applied Mathematics S-STEM program at FIU is an NSF funded oppritunity. This oppritunity is avalible for both undergraduate and graduate mathematics student. The main goal of the S-STEM program is to enable low-income students with academic ability, talent or potential to pursue successful careers in promising STEM fields.

This award is extened based on financial need.

Scholarship Award: Up to $10,000, varies depending on financial need.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident
  • Demonstrated financial need (Through submission of FAFSA through FIUOneStop)
  • Demonatrated academic abilities.
  • Currently enrolled FIU student
  • Major in mathematics or statistics
