Mathematics (Minor)

Our Minor in Mathematics enables students to develop a degree of expertise and knowledge in an area of study in addition to their major academic program of study.

  • Courses

This minor requires the completion of MAC 2311-2-3 Calculus I-I-III (or equivalent) and four math courses from the approved list of upper-division courses for the BS in Mathematical Sciences degree. MAP 2302 Differential Equations and MAS 3105 Linear Algebra may be included among these four courses. A grade of "C" or higher is necessary for the minor.

Courses completed elsewhere may be applied to the Mathematics minor, with the approval of the department. However, at least two of the four upper-division elective courses must be completed at FIU.

For more information, consult the Undergraduate Course Catalog.

  • Application

Current degree-seeking students should submit the Change of Program/Plan form to add a minor. Approved minor applications will be forwarded to the Registrar for processing.
