Through our internships and jobs, students from high school to PhD level can gain experience in engaging the public with real university research for a sustainable future. Students who work with us gain on-the-job science communication training; real-world curriculum and evaluation experience; and network-building opportunities.
The Education Outreach professional development pathway has roles for everyone, from high school internships to graduate student science communication positions.
High School Internships
Available for juniors and seniors. Interns will be involved in a number of activities, including curriculum development and event planning and execution.
Undergraduate Jobs
Undergraduates in Federal Work-Study and Student Assistant positions work with our team to bring cutting-edge research to K-12 students and the community.
Graduate Fellowships
Gain practical experience in curriculum development and science communication techniques by translating your research and acting as a mentor to students.
Open Positions
These opportunities provide a great way to learn about the importance of our local ecosystems and do your part in keeping our environment clean and healthy for a more sustainable future.
- MAST@FIU Interns - High school students enrolled at MAST@FIU may apply for an opportunity to work alongside our staff and researchers and enhance their academic experience.
- Federal Work Study - Available to eligible undergraduate students this opportunity provides an opportunity to engage the community across disciplines and build job experience.
