Professional Science Master's in Environmental Policy and Management

Our Professional Science Master's in Environmental Policy and Management allows students to pursue advanced training in environmental policy while developing highly valued management skills. Through an innovative curriculum and internship experience, the program emphasizes environmental management, policy analysis, written and verbal communication, environmental journalism and environmental stewardship.

This four-semester program is ideal for current practitioners who are interested in career and leadership development. Students benefit from access to state-of-the-art labs and instruments, hands-on workshops with our experts, and networking opportunities. • Guest Lecture: Rare Plant Conservation in the Context of Restoration
    Date: March 7, 2026

    Time: 3:50 PM

    Speaker: James Lange, Research Botanist

    Description:
Southern Florida supports a rich assemblage of rare and endemic plant species increasingly threatened by habitat loss, altered hydrology, invasive species, and climate change. Restoration initiatives—from pine rockland and coastal dune management to Everglades hydrologic restoration—offer opportunities to safeguard these imperiled plants. This presentation will highlight case studies from Fairchild’s Conservation Program, emphasizing targeted conservation strategies, challenges, and successes, and the importance of integrating species‑specific needs into broader ecosystem restoration work.
