Led by one of the largest academic teams in the world dedicated to marine research and education, FIU’s Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology prepares students to study ocean life and coastal ecosystems through immersive learning experiences, hands-on fieldwork and laboratory research. Located at the crossroads of Biscayne Bay, the Everglades and the Florida Keys, the program gives students direct access to diverse marine environments while building skills in ecology, conservation, marine organisms and environmental science.

Marine Biology with Honors
The Honors in Marine Biology program gives exceptional students the opportunity to conduct original research directed by a faculty mentor. Students carry out a research project, complete a thesis paper and present the results of the research at a departmental seminar.
