Expertise: Writing and Rhetoric

I first joined FIU’s community in 2005, as graduate student in the Creative Writing MFA Program. I teach first-year Essay Writing and Writing and Rhetoric courses, Advanced Writing and Research, and Professional and Technical Writing. I serve as chair of the Community Writing Committee. Community engagement projects provide me a valuable and fulfilling pathway for teaching my students research methods, public-facing writing, and stewardship. My students report an increased sense of purpose, as they work to aid and empower their local and global communities.
