Specialty: Writing Program

Professor Sohan's professional interests stem from his years writing business correspondence of various types in sales, marketing, and operations at companies based in the Midwest. He received his MA in English from the University of Louisville and his BA in English from Xavier University. He taught composition and literature courses at both the University of Louisville and Bellarmine University for many years, but this classroom experience did not adequately prepare him for his service at the public high school level as an English teacher and writing consultant, an experience he believes every college professor should try once.

His area of specialization is Professional and Technical Writing and First-Year Writing. He is the chair of the Professional and Technical Writing Committee; mentor of Dual Enrollment instructors; mentor of adjuncts and teaching assistants; and member of the Assessment Committee.

Research Areas

Professor Sohan's research interests include corporate internal communications, business-to-business (B2B) communications, customer service, corporate social media image, and public relations.
