Bernadette Sexton also known as “Bernie” is the Program Coordinator for the Learning Assistant Program. She completed her degree in Environmental Engineering at Florida State University in 2010. Since then, Bernadette started her journey at FIU in 2016 working in the Mathematics & Statistics Department for eight years, and recently started working as the Program Coordinator for the LA Program on October, 2024. As the Program Coordinator, Bernie oversees the program processes and works with the team to support the faculty and LAs. She works closely with faculty to ensure that LA practices are implemented and assists in allocating the LAs according to faculty and course needs.
