Jed is an associate professor of research in the Institute of Environment. He is a botanist by training, with special focus on research that complements land management and landscape scale restoration. Growing up in Oklahoma, stories of the dust bowl conditions of the 1930's were part of every day life. He committed to a path of research focused on enabling restoration of as much of the earth as possible, with a particular focus on plant functional traits, prescribed fire, hydrologic restoration, water quality, and biogeochemistry at large spatial scales.
Research Areas
