Dr. Yuxi Qiu is a clinical assistant professor of research methodology of the Department of Counseling, Recreation and School Psychology at the Florida International University. Dr. Qiu received his PhD in Research and Evaluation Methodology from the University of Florida in 2018. Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Qiu worked as a postdoctoral associate at the UF Lastinger Center for Learning, and was offered a fellowship of psychometric modeling with the Dynamic Learning Maps® (DLM®) Alternate Assessment Consortium through the Achievement and Assessment Institute at the University of Kansas.

Dr. Qiu’s research has been focused on measurement and latent variable modeling. He is particularly interested in test fairness, validity and validation, and the advancement and application of psychometric models to settings such as simulation-/game-based assessment, assessments of online learning programs, and performance-based assessment. His research has been published in methodology journals such as Educational and Psychological Measurement, International Journal of Testing.
