Sheldon McDonald is a postdoctoral associate working with Dr. Charity Watson for Project Visibility which explores the experiences of Black students in active learning mathematics courses within a Hispanic-serving institution context. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with Education as well as his Master of Education degree in Mathematics Education from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica. He also earned his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction specializing in STEM from the Florida International University. Sheldon has taught mathematics at the middle school, high school, and college levels both in Jamaica and in Florida and particularly enjoys teaching algebra and foundational mathematics courses.
