Research Areas
Analytical/Forensic Chemistry, Studies in the development of novel applications of analytical and bioanalytical chemistry in the Forensic Sciences. This includes the development of methods in forensic genetic analysis, including digital PCR, microfluidics, microbial forensics, eDNA, and epigenetic phenotyping. In the area of trace analysis, we are working on the development of chromatographic and electrophoretic methods for the detection of complex mixtures and the application of portable sensing devices for drug and explosives analysis, such as paper microfluidics, surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy and screen-printed electrodes.
