Amanda Martinez earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with an enhanced FIUteach major from Florida International University (FIU), which prepared her for a career in secondary STEM education. She went on to teach biology for four years in Miami-Dade County Public Schools while concurrently earning her Master of Public Health from FIU.
Amanda is now proud to bring her experience full circle as the Program Coordinator for FIUteach, where she supports pre-service STEM teachers, master teachers, and mentor teachers through curriculum coordination, outreach, and student success initiatives. In addition to her role with FIUteach, Amanda is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Health at FIU with a concentration in Environmental Toxicology.
