Machel Higgins' research interests focus on tectonics, the earthquake cycle, volcanic processes, and vertical land motion. He primarily applies space-borne geodetic techniques, such as InSAR and GNSS, and earthquake data to understand these geophysical phenomena using methods that include data inversion, numerical modeling, and seismic hazard estimation.
