Research Areas
The GhEM Lab, a new research group at Florida International University’s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and affiliated with the Global Forensic & Justice Center, aims to advance forensic science through integrative genomic, epigenomic, and multi-omics approaches.
We develop innovative bioanalytical methods to study DNA, RNA, and molecular signatures in biological evidence, enabling more accurate identification, interpretation, and understanding of complex forensic samples.
Giving the rapid advancements in molecular technologies, we leverage these tools to tackle increasingly challenging forensic cases and translate scientific discoveries into practical applications.
