Research Areas

For his doctoral research, John Cozza studied sex expression in plants, in particular a species of Begonia growing in the understory of a rainforest in Costa Rica. He now teaches General Biology, Ecology, Botany, and Senior Seminar, and mentors student Learning Assistants. He is also a board member and volunteer with TREEmendous Miami, a community tree-planting and ecological restoration group, and is active in the planning of the future FIU Arboretum.
