Yoon Ha Choi received a PhD in Education with an emphasis on Science Education from Oregon State University. Her dissertation focused on the experiences of women of color in STEM whose education trajectories included a community college education. In her role at FIU, Choi is investigating instructor practices in introductory STEM courses and how these instructor practices may support the experiences of underrepresented and marginalized students in STEM. Choi’s research interests and expertise include diversity, equity and inclusion in STEM; student experiences in higher education (community college through graduate studies); and intersectional feminist narratives.
