Dr. Ceccopieri is an oceanographer specialized in analytical environmental chemistry. Her research background involves combining elemental, isotopic and molecular tools in order to evaluate the sources and fate of organic compounds in continental margins and different coastal environments, such as mangrove forests, lagoons and estuarine systems, in both modern and past contexts. She is highly interested in applying the most advanced mass spectrometry techniques to fill the current gaps in knowledge regarding chemical contaminants identification and source-to-sink pathways.
