Rosanna M. Castro

Rosanna is a strategic communications leader with nearly 20 years of experience developing award-winning marketing and communications initiatives across the healthcare, higher education, nonprofit and corporate sectors.

She currently leads internal and external communications for the Center for Children and Families at Florida International University, a nationally recognized clinical research center that serves thousands of children and families each year. In this role, she partners with center leadership, clinical teams and nearly 40 FIU faculty affiliates to develop and execute communications strategies that support research, clinical services and training programs.

The center manages an extensive research portfolio that includes more than 70 active funded projects, approximately $90 million in awards and nearly 180 research publications annually. Rosanna specializes in translating complex research into compelling stories that engage the public, strengthen partnerships and elevate organizational impact. She leads media relations, brand storytelling, digital strategy and engagement, internal communications and advancement communications, while overseeing integrated marketing campaigns, events and community outreach initiatives.

She also collaborates closely with key partners such as The Children's Trust and Miami-Dade County Public Schools, while working cross-functionally across FIU to align communications efforts with institutional priorities and amplify the center's visibility and mission.

Prior to joining FIU, Rosanna led communications and marketing initiatives for global brands and organizations including HBO Latin America, Sony Electronics, Nicklaus Children's Health Foundation, international superstar Thalía, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Baha Mar and Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.

A notable career highlight was supporting public relations efforts surrounding the landmark $60 million philanthropic pledge by Jack Nicklaus, which led to the renaming of Miami Children's Hospital to Nicklaus Children's Hospital. She also coordinated public relations for the foundation's major fundraising events, including its signature Diamond Ball gala, honoring Dwyane Wade, Romero Britto and Armando Christian Pérez (Pitbull).

Another significant achievement was leading regional public relations initiatives for HBO Latin America's flagship programming, including *Game of Thrones*, *True Blood* and *Veep*, as well as original productions across Latin America.

Rosanna earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication and Psychology from the University of Miami.
