Understanding what limits human performance to enhance sport performance, health and resilience.
Dr Billaut is an exercise physiologist and sport scientist whose research examines the physiological mechanisms that limit human performance and how these mechanisms can be manipulated through training and targeted interventions to foster long-term performance, health and resilience. His work focuses particularly on neuromuscular fatigue, muscle and cerebral oxygenation, high-intensity and repeated-sprint exercise, hypoxia and altitude, and blood-flow restriction modalities. He combines laboratory research with applied sport science to translate physiological measurements and experimental findings into practical strategies for testing, training and recovery.
His experience working with world-class athletes and coaches in Australia and Canada across varied disciplines provides the foundation for research partnerships that connect scientific discovery with real-world performance problems.
