 Sherrie Rhodes Beeson, PhD, EdS, teaches Social Studies Education courses for the Department of Teaching and Learning. She earned her doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus in International and Intercultural Education at FIU. Beeson holds a Master’s degree in School Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a Specialty in serving those who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. She gained fifteen years of teaching experience in public elementary and secondary schools prior to earning her PhD. Her dissertation research examines pre- and in-service teachers’ lived experiences of global learning. Beeson is currently involved in ongoing research on culturally sustaining professional development.
