The Linguistics Program offers a certificate acknowledging that a student has demonstrated competence in coursework pertaining to the study of linguistics. This certificate is designed to meet the needs of those who have a general interest in linguistics studies, as well as those for who work in linguistics would assist in career planning or advancement.
Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to earn the certificate. A student can acquire a Certificate in Linguistic Studies by successfully completing at least six courses in linguistics or linguistics-related courses, totaling eighteen credit hours.
