Brittany Harris
Brittany is a plant community ecologist that specializes in research related to disturbance and recovery. She earned a PhD in Biology from Florida International University studying the effects of invasive species and altered fire regimes on plant-pollinator networks in the Florida Keys. She also holds a MSc in Environmental Studies. Brittany worked in the Geographic Information Services (GIS) Center as a Graduate Assistant for three years before becoming a Research Associate. Her current research involves modelling changes in forest structure and plant composition of fire-adapted and hurricane prone ecosystems using remote sensing technologies, like LiDAR and multispectral satellite imagery.
