Wade has received the Chicago Literary Award in Poetry, the Gulf Coast Nonfiction Prize, the Oscar Wilde Poetry Prize, the Literal Latte Nonfiction Award, two Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Prizes, an Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowship from the Kentucky Arts Council, the American Literary Review Nonfiction Prize, the Arts & Letters Nonfiction Prize, the Thomas J. Hruska Nonfiction Prize, the Spoon River Poetry Prize, a grant from the Barbara Deming Memorial Fund, and the Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Memoir.
Research Areas
Dr. Wade is the Writers on the Bay Reading Series Coordinator and serves on the Creative Writing Admissions Committee and the Reading Queer Advisory Board for South Florida. he is currently working on a collection of creative nonfiction essays called The Regulars and a collection of poetry modeled on the long-running television game show Jeopardy! She is also working on a series of feminist nonfiction collaborations with fellow FIU faculty member Denise Duhamel and the lyric essayist Brenda Miller.
