Starting at Marquette University in 1995, Mr. Thomas advised first-generation college students interested in engineering. After completing five years in this capacity, he began working at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, his alma mater, in the role of associate director for the Health Careers Opportunity Program. There he worked with minority students interested in allopathic and osteopathic health professions. In April of 2020, Mr. Thomas will complete his 13th year at FIU for the Office of Pre-Health Professions Advising. He enjoys the diversity of Miami and the potential it has for changing the world for the better. Most of his time away from the university is spent with his wife, Vivian, and three of their awesome grandchildren, Rylan, Travis and Veronica.
