Dr. Rowan served six years as Assistant Dean for the Center for Academic Services in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education. He is now an Assistant Dean (based on the Biscayne Bay Campus) that oversees student success initiatives for CASE as well as Director of the Liberal Studies Program. Dr. Rowan also teaches for the Department of History and the Liberal Studies. He focuses on the social and cultural history of Modern Britain, teaching survey courses on Modern European History and Western Civilization, in addition to upper-division courses in British History as well as the History of Ideas. Dr. Rowan’s research interests include the formation of business cultures, paternalism, and collective identities in late 19th and early 20th Britain.
