Kyle Perkins earned a B.A. in English from Union College in Kentucky, an M.A. in Linguistics from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Michigan. He is a professor of TESOL and Foreign Language Education in the Department of Teaching and Learning. His principal research interests include the Value Added Model, the instructional sensitivity of achievement test items, the Rasch model, and the underlying dimensionality of achievement tests. He has also published articles in the field of applied measurement in the health sciences.
