Michael Mendez is the owner of Mendez Fuel, which operates several gas stations throughout Miami. Mendez Fuel’s flagship Coral Way location is anything but typical, offering fresh specialty sandwiches, acai bowl and growlers. It also has its own proprietary cold-press juice brand, FuelJuice Miami, and is Miami’s best craft beer destinations. Previously, Mendez worked at the wealth-management firm, JDM Partners, and implemented the firm’s marketing plan, establishing new client relationships. For the past 10 years, Mendez sat on FIU’s Foundation board. He currently serves as cabinet member for the Dean’s Advisory Board for both FIU’s law school and CASE. He is president of the Costa Foundation, named in memory of his late uncle Carlos Costa. The foundation supports human rights organizations and has funded an immigration legal clinic at FIU, as well as college scholarships. Mendez is a graduate of FIU with both a bachelor’s degree in history and an MBA.
