Dr. Harvey earned his Ph.D. in English from Stanford University and specializes in 19th Century American Literature and Culture. He regularly teaches courses in Early American Literature and American Romanticism.

Teaching Philosophy

“Develop your inward sublimity, make your inner selfhood as rich, nuanced, and complex as possible, and the best way of doing that is by engaging others’ inward sublimity, and the best way of doing that, in turn, is by exploring the humanities as widely as you can.”
