Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Mariel Acosta-Garcia is a two-time FIU alumna, having earned both her law and bachelor’s degrees here. Mariel practices law in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration (formal and summary), guardianship administration, and taxation. Before joining Vasallo Law, she was a partner at the law firm of Levin & Acosta-Garcia, a boutique law firm located in Miami. Mariel has maintained strong ties with FIU and presently serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Arts, Sciences & Education (CASE) and on the Alumni Association for the College of Law. She serves as a committee member for the Cuban American Bar Association, coordinating and organizing numerous events throughout the year, most of which benefit the association’s pro bono efforts to provide legal services to in-need minorities. Mariel is also a member of the Real Property, Probate, Trust and Tax Sections of the Florida Bar and the Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami.
